White Pottery vase – Galuchat blanc

French ceramic artist, Karen Swami wanted to reproduce the cracked effect of arid and desert soils. By developing this white enamel on her unique art ceramic pieces – with a high content of bone ash, and by applying it initially on red sandstone, it succeeded in reproducing this effect. And then it began to vary the colors and densities of the enamels, so that from the initial desert the coins more and more evoked the galuchat. Depending on the earth and metal oxides used – which give the colour of the enamel, these pieces remind the animal, plant or mineral world.
