Handcrafted pottery ceramic vases – Locqui
The Locqui, an emblematic collection of Karen Swami, occupy a special place in her creative universe. In 2020, the ceramist embarked on a new challenge by opening a ceramic workshop in Brittany, France, in Locquirec, larger than her Parisian workshop. Fascinated by the Breton light and its changing landscapes, Karen Swami draws her inspiration from the natural colors of the region: shades of yellow, green and blue which bring radiance and freshness to each ceramic piece.
Each Locqui ceramic vase is the result of meticulous work. To obtain a cracked effect under the glaze, each creation undergoes five successive ceramic firings, a demanding technique which accentuates its uniqueness while increasing the risk of breakage. This artisanal know-how combining Parisian tradition and Breton inspiration has attracted prestigious names, notably showrooms of Christian Liaigre, who adopted these exceptional pieces. A collection where contemporary ceramics meets the poetry of natural elements.
